Just one wrong letter …

Stumbling upon amusingly mangled phrases is one of the little perks of correcting texts written by “non-native-speakers”. Here are some gems:
Overheard at a German café: “Bitte ein Kaffee Togo” ((No, it’s not a West African specialty, it’s supposed to be a “coffee to go”, but what’s a blank space between friends, anyway?))
Don’t be such a coach potato! ((Some trainers instruct you from the sofa?))
A sweet shirt with our company logo ((Well, it might be sweet – until you start sweating))
Our company now has the pool position. ((Sounds like a really relaxed work environment!))
More to follow …
